STEPS INVOLVED IN LAUNCHING MICROSOFT EXCEL

  • Click on start
  • Go to all apps
  • Locate MS-Office
  • Then click on MS-Excel

FEATURES OF MS-EXCEL INTERFACE

 SELECTED CELL is the active cell or the cell that has been clicked on.

NAME BOX displays the name of the selected cell in other words the active cell 

A ROW they r the cells that runs horizontally

A COLUMN they are the cells that runs vertically

TITLE BAR contains the title of the work you are working on. it can be located on top

RIBBON the row of tabs and icons at the top of the Excel window that allows you to quickly find, understand and use commands for completing a certain task

SELECTING CELLS IN MS-EXCEL

To select a cell in Microsoft excel, just click on the cell you want and the cell name will be displayed in the name box.
Also you can select multiple cells by;
1. clicking on a single cell
2. send the cursor to the edge of the cell where there is a dot
3. then you click and drag to cover the cells you want to select

HOW TO SELECT CELLS IN MS-EXCEL



INSERTING DATA IN MS-EXCEL

To insert data in MS-Excel;
  • Select the cell in which you want to insert your data
  • start typing/inputting the data you want
YOU CAN ALSO IN PUT DATA IN MULTIPLE CELLS WITHOUT NECCESSARY TYPING THEM OVER AGAIN. THE VIDEO BELOW SHOWS AN EXAMPLE;



MOVING DATA IN MS-EXCEL

TO MOVE DATA IN MS-EXCEL;
  1. Select the cell that contains the data to be moved
  2. click and drag that cell containing the data to the cell you want to move it to

DELETING CELLS IN MS EXCEL

The following instructions are ways to delete cells in MS-Excel
  1. select the cell containing the data you want to delete
  2. press the delete button on the keyboard to delete
